Annual Report
The following are the REPORTED crocodilian attack statistics for 2024. It is important to emphasize that a significant number of incidents go unreported, particularly throughout the range of the Nile crocodile. The Nile crocodile is almost certainly responsible for more human deaths annually than any other species, but reporting is very limited for much of its range. In addition, attacks by the saltwater crocodile go unreported in western Papua (Indonesia), Solomon Islands, and possibly Myanmar. The West African crocodile was reported to have killed five people in Sierra Leone, but no details have been made available, so they are not included here.
